Touring class is waiting for changes not only in the drivers’ composition, but also in its technique. Nikolay Karamyshev, who made an excellent showing at the stage in Myachkovo and who is currently ranked 4th in the individual classification bracket, will drive his newly acquired diesel Seat Leon – race car of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

This season such car had already appeared on a Russian racing ring – the same model was driven by Rustam Minnikhanov, president of the Republic of Tatarstan, at the second stage of the championship. And as it is widely remembered, Minnikhanov with his Seat was the main competitor of Alexander Frolov, leader of the current season and reigning champion of Russia in the Touring class.  Fifth stage of the Russian Racing Championship (RRC) took place on August 4 – 5 at the Moscow Raceway autodrome, situated in Volokolamsk district of the Moscow Region.

This Sunday a second race in the most powerful and prestigious class – Touring – took place, which turned out to be one of the most fascinating races in the season. For the first time in this season the victory was gained by Dmitry Dobrovolskiy, native of Moscow driving a BMW E90. During the whole second part of the race he was persistently struggled up to the finish line by Nikolay Karamyshev from Kursk, who finally remained the second winner driving his SEAT Leon.
